Breathe out. Close mouth.

Breathe in through your nose slowly for a count of six: one, two, three, four, five, six, or until lungs feel stretched full of air like a full balloon.

Blow air out your mouth slowly for a count of six: one, two, three, four, five, six, or until lungs feel completely empty with no air left inside, like an empty balloon.

1 round of deep breathing = 5 complete breaths in and out.

If you’re short on time, even a few proper deep breaths in and out can help with relaxation. You can do more than one round at a time if you want. Use a time limit, e.g. deep breathing for 5 or 10 minutes or however long you want. When could you use deep breathing? Three times a day? At a stoplight? When you feel stressed or tense? Are your shoulders so tight they’re almost up to your earlobes? Deep breathing.
